Results of LabelExpo 2015 exhibition

The most important event in the label industry - LabelExpo 2015 exhibition has finished in Brussels. New technical solutions and technological possibilities have been successfully shown by the main world manufacturers, suppliers of the equipment and consumables. A new to the label industry name – BOBST - has been announced at this exhibition for the first time.

The booth of BOBST Firenze company attracted the attention of the exhibition’s visitors. This division has recently appeared in a large BOBST group after the joining of the manufacturer of the narrow web equipment Nuova GIDUE S.r.l. to the large Switzerland manufacturer. That’s why during LabelExpo exhibition Nuova GIDUE equipment has been demonstrated under the BOBST name for the first time, and got a new logo and a new extended line of the printing presses.

All exhibition days BOBST Firenze company was showing two absolutely new flexo printing presses M4 and M6. Within the ten minutes presentations the change of three printing jobs was demonstrated. The ability of the prompt transition from one work to the other is achieved due to the latest BOBST technologies as well as the introduction of the revolutionary solution – 7-inks REVO printing technology, which allows to avoid using of PANTONE color pallet. The operator is no longer required to change inks and aniloxes since the automatic changing of plate cylinders without the press stoppage allows making the circulation changing within a few seconds.

All 4 exhibition days at BOBST Firenze booth VMG-Label specialists were taking negotiations with the representatives of 40 printing houses from Russia and CIS countries. Printers of Russian market showed a particular interest to two new printing press models. The first one is fully servo driven printing line BOBST M6 670 mm with the Sleeve print cylinder version. BOBST M6 is a model with the highest level of automation of all flexo equipment in the market now.

The feature of this model is the increased width for the production of flexible packaging systems, a full automation of Digital Flexo printing process; automatic changing of the Sleeve print cylinder without stoppage of New V-Flower printing process; unwinder and rewinder auto pasting; temperature control systems of UV-dryers for the production of safety food packaging.

The second innovation is a narrow web printing line BOBST М4 370 mm. This model is manufactured with the drive shaft on the print cylinders and servo drivers of the plate cylinders. The printing press can be equipped by the systems of temperature control. The construction of the print unit is similar to M5 unit – a very short web pass between the print cylinders of double size. These technical features of the printing press provide the web tension control, what allows to work with the wide range of substrates.

During the exhibition a new development of BOBST has been shown – a high speed semi rotary die-cutting unit Metronome with the automatic installation of a die-cutting knife inside a die-cutting unit. The maximum working speed of the die-cutting in the semi rotary mode can achieve 80 m/min.

Plenty of new products at LabelExpo 2015 and the great interest to them from the visitors show that this industry is rapidly developing technically and expanding.
