New inks for UV printing
14.03.2014
The interest in UV technologies more often attracts additional investments in the development of the printing houses’ equipment. However, the price for consumables often stops the broad advent of the technology. And now the Toyo company offered the prospect product to the market - heightened sensibility inks which allow to consume less energy. New Toyo inks of FD LPC series are developed with consideration two types’ features of UV lamps – mercury and LED installed in UV devices. To harden the inks of this series you only need 25% of power consumed by the lamps for the hardening of usual UV inks. These inks can be also used on the printing presses equipped by standard UV lamps disconnecting 3-4 installed mercury lamps.Inks of the FD LPC and FD LPC AD series are developed for commercial printing and are used on the printing presses equipped by UV dryers. FD LPC are used for printing on paper and cardboard and FD LPC AD are used for printing on non-absorbing materials of PP, PET and PVC type.
The experts marked the following technological features of new print inks:
- Fast hardening using less quantities of UV power;
- Higher gloss level in comparison with standard UV inks;
- Very fast polymerization including in depth optical thick areas;
- Wide color range;
- Excellent stability of the ink / water balance;
- Ideal usage for UV – varnishing.
The inks have the ISO 2846-1 and ISO 12647-2 certificate for both types of the lamps and are already in stock at VMG Trade. Heightened sensibility Toyo inks are already in stock at VMG Trade, the properties of which allow to save up to 75% power consumed by UV devices.
