Increasing the automation of the production of corrugated cardboard packaging

At the beginning of 2022, Andax line for the assembly of corrugated cardboard partitions from the Italian equipment manufacturer Solema was installed at YuzhUralKarton Factory. The installation was carried out by specialists from Solema manufacturer and service engineers from the Russian distributor, Vneshmultigraph.

YuzhUralKarton factory has been successfully producing corrugated packaging of various configurations since 2009. The enterprise is located in Chelyabinsk region in Korkino city, and occupies 11.3 hectares of land. The company's activity is aimed at creating high-quality corrugated packaging. The factory's capacity is 180 million square meters of corrugated cardboard per year. The total area of industrial premises is about 22 000 sq.m.

The company has powerful technical resources and every year increases the production of corrugated packaging. Since the opening, the factory has increased its packaging output by 7.4 times - from 11 000 to 82 000 sq.m per year.

ANDAX assembly line, installed at YuzhUralKarton Factory, has the maximum configuration: two Duplex feeders for transverse partition elements, a final conveyor with a Collapser folding system for ready-made sets.

The machine successfully processes semimanufactures from any type of corrugated cardboard (A, B, C, E, F profiles and five-layer cardboard (up to BC) of both foreign and domestic production.

The line capacity depends on the type of partition and can reach 50 sets per minute. The line is operated by one operator and an auxiliary worker.

In automatic mode, the line can assemble a partition with 6 longitudinal and 24 transverse elements, while the minimum cell size can be only 35 by 15 mm.

One ANDAX machine can replace the work of 5-8 pick-ups if the partition assembly operation was without automation, and it is almost impossible to manually assemble partitions with a large number of minimum size cells.
