The quantity of newspaper printing presses have increased in Moscow

In 2021 Vneshmultigraph Co.Ltd. implemented a very large-scale project to install CityLine Express newspaper press in Moscow “Krasnaya Zvezda” printing house. The complexity of the installation was that the purchased web offset printing machine needed major repairs and a thorough modernization. Among other things, the new building was not originally adapted for the installation of a newspaper press. Design work - the creation of foundation drawings, intrashop logistics schemes, and the arrangement of auxiliary equipment - was started at the beginning of 2020. The installation height of the newspaper unit above ground level was a little more than a meter. This required the creation of a foundation of a complex shape.

Repair work in the shop premises was started in the second half of 2020, and the installation of equipment started in April 2021. Since that moment, a lot of repair and restoration work has been carried out, including the removal of wear on the cylinder bores in the machine frame, the replacement of the entire electrical part of the machine, and the complete wiring of electrical wires, and even repainting the machine. Additionally, a shaftless drive based on Siemens electronics was mounted. A new modern QuadTech registration and cut-off control system has been installed.

The machine was put-into-operation in October 2021, but not all work has been completed at the moment. The installation of autopasters and ink build-up systems are to be installed, then the addition of the machine with an ultraviolet dryer should follow.

Four Vneshmultigraph service engineers worked on this project for over six months. In fact, part of the assembly operations, usually carried out at Manugraph manufacturing plant, was transferred to the workshop of “Krasnaya Zvezda” printing house.

Such a large and voluminous work would not have been possible without the full support of Manugraph, who provided the necessary spare parts, schematics, drawings, new electronics and software.

As a result, a new modern newspaper press appeared within the walls of JSC “Krasnaya Zvezda”, while the printing house was able to significantly save investments in the modernization of production.

Now the entire production of newspapers has already been transferred to a new site and the machine has begun its service for the benefit of readers of the military-patriotic and, of course, ordinary commercial press.
